Activities must be engaging! Students thrive in an environment where they learn through various sources and activities. The items in this project all play a role in providing that for our students. In 1st grade, we emphasize phonics and supporting students as they expand on their literacy skills. My students are especially engaged during our phonics block. They enjoy movement, songs, and most of all, the activities! All of our students have different needs, therefore, access to different manipulatives and resources is a must. One of the greatest resource for a teacher is other teachers. The Teachers Pay Teachers gift card will allow me to purchase teacher-created activities. These are great because they are made by people who are in the classroom. Items such as the alphabet blocks and magnet fishing rods will contribute to our growing resource collection.
