My students need a table and chairs in the classroom where we can meet in small groups for guided reading and guided math in both English and Spanish. We currently use rectangular tables or sit on the floor, but it is difficult to physically reach all the students. All of my students learn in different ways. As a teacher, it is my job to be familiar with each different learning style and teach my students accordingly. Small group/differentiated instruction time is one of our favorite parts of the day and where I maximize our instruction. We meet every day in small groups of 4 to 6 children in each group. While I teach one group, the rest of the groups work in listening centers and do independent writing work and reading. Everything is in Spanish and English.
