My students our from Boston and come from different parts of the city. Many of them are second language learners and also have a variety of challenges while learning. Thay are all sweet and caring young people with a true desire to learn. The students come to us with a range of issues ranging from poverty, homelessness, emotional and social issues and learning disabilities. They require love and support to nurture their inner desire to learn and to appreciate the value of an education. For so many of the students in my class reading, writing, organization and understanding is a daily struggle. It is vital that they are encouraged to continue their hard work of staying focused and working through the difficulties that they face while learning and undertanding knew things. Many of my students do not have the support needed at home, therefore the time in class so crucial. We have to make evry minute count.
