My First Graders love to learn. They are very curious about real-life events. They love to explore books, ask questions, and find their own answers. Books are crucial in teaching children to read; love to read; and about their world, history, holidays, and social skills. A classroom library provides simple, engaging text that first graders can decode using the colorful illustrations and graphics. It is a very valuable resource that helps students develop spelling, vocabulary, grammar, comprehension, fluency, social and character skills, and influences their desire to be independent, life-long learners.
