Our world is ever-changing and Scholastic News is a great way to keep first graders current, curious, and finding a love for non-fiction. Students will be involved in identifying and labeling text features to finding the main idea of each section. Scholastic news will help students build areas of language arts skills and content knowledge. First graders will develop a love for learning through the high-interest current events Scholastic has to offer. The lesson plans and online activities will keep students engaged. I strive to give as many opportunities for students to learn about our world in interesting ways. Since Scholastic News also has a technology piece, students will be engaged in online activities that will spark their inquiry.
