It is my goal to foster a LOVE of reading in my 6th grade students, not a tolerance for it. I want them to experience the joy of finding a book that speaks to your soul. Reading should be an enjoyable experience, not something students feel they have to do. Reading is the key component for education, fostering an extensive vocabulary, building background knowledge, and jump-starting a hunger for learning. I want to provide an engaging selection of novels for my students to study and fall in love with. Please help me provide my students with these tools for success! We will be using many different genres of book, such as Percy Jackson and The Olympians, to cover our TEKS and learning standards while diving into an interesting novel.
