A student's transition into the Art classroom is a very important first step. The entire class enters with anticipation about what they will see and learn and create. They are excited of course, and my job is focus their enthusiasm or curiosity within the right environment for learning Art. My Art room does not have a nice big rug for them, a place to go at the start of class. A rug should be a main feature for making a welcoming atmosphere for children. They could sit comfortably while hearing about the lesson, and get ideas looking at related illustrations in picture books.

About my class
