My students need a boom microphone with stand for filming and a laptop for editing documentaries that will tell the stories of their diverse cultures. We have a small grant which will cover one camera, one tripod, and a set of batteries. Our school does not have any computers or laptops available for screenwriting and editing. We do not have a media department and the only computers in the school are Chromebooks, which are needed in the classrooms. A film program will allow a diverse community to express voices. Media also provides an opportunity for students with special needs to fully participate in a general education classroom.
