My students lead active lives in a rural setting. Many of them have horses or work on family farms. They are curious about the world around them and love doing projects. They particularly enjoyed dissecting frogs in science class last year. My students try to act cool and grown up, but they still get blown away by the wonders of science. It is incredibly fulfilling to see magic in their eyes when they discover something new. My students, in general, have not had access to extravagant field trips or state-of-the-art equipment. I hope to provide a safe classroom environment for them to explore the curiosities that surround them. Even though they complain as teenagers do, I know they are hungry to learn.
