My classroom consists of TK-6th grade students. My students have diverse needs such as autism, OHI, SLI, SLD, or ADHD, etc. Most of my students are ELD students or LEP students. Being that they receive special education services, they need significant modifications to their instruction and would benefit from having sensory materials in their learning environment. The students in my class demonstrate cognitive functioning and adaptive behavior in the home, school, and community environments at a level significantly below that of their typically developing peers, even with program modifications, adaptations, and accommodations. They require extensive direct instruction and/or extensive support in multiple settings to acquire, maintain, and generalize academic and functional skills necessary for application in school, work, home, and community environments. Despite their learning abilities, my students are eager learn.
