My students are always up to date on the latest trends and advancements in technology. These iPads will continue to enhance the technology based classroom that I strive to create! When you think about how often we jump on our iPhones to look something up or utilize an app, it is constant! Having iPads in our classroom will create a hands on experience for my students to collaborate on group work, share their thinking to the entire class, and enjoy a platform that is relevant! You would be surprised how much background knowledge 7 and 8 year olds have using Apple iPads and iPhones! What better way to expand on that, than to add them to the classroom! My kiddos come from various cultural backgrounds and languages, creating a truly diverse classroom! Many of them lack access to technology or internet in the home which motivates me to provide these tools for my students even more. Using iPads allows me to use apps such as Nearpod, so my students can participate in a variety of activities to show their understanding, and various reading and math apps that reinforce the learning from each of my lessons. This will create a more student led classroom where each child is able to own their learning and be proud of how they choose to portray it!
