Our students use a variety of materials and journals throughout the day to assist in learning. Presently, students are having to store their materials away from their seat adding another tricky transition to our day. By donating to our project, you can help us begin to learn how to be organized and build responsibility for being in charge of our own materials. We are requesting over the seat pockets, which would provide a space for students to keep materials such as journals, pencils, crayons, scissors, and glue. These pockets would be used daily as students would be storing and retrieving materials throughout the day. The pockets at their seats would also increase our instructional time as we would be able to start right away rather than transition to getting our math or writing journals from a different part of the room. Since each student would have a personal pocket on their seat, rather than shared supplies on the table, it would encourage them to be responsible for their own supplies and have a spot just for them where they are able to keep them.
