I teach 6th grade at a K-6th school with a span of different family backgrounds. Students have a wide range of interests from dancing to coding! As they finish up their final year in elementary school I often see them bloom in more confident versions of themselves. They begin to identify themselves more readily as individuals and also see the effect of their contributions to the group. They also begin to see themselves as citizens of the world! I strive to empower them to own their personal history and understand their place in making history today. We talk a lot about empathy, power and how they have the ability to affect those around them and to make positive change, if they choose to.

About my class
