I teach at a Title 1 school, in a bilingual classroom. My students are not motivated to read, and I feel that in order for them to be proficient readers they need to read a lot. Many of them do not have the resources or support at home, so I need to provide them with the opportunities while they are in my class. They are eager to learn, and I know that once I provide them with a special reading area where they can get comfortable while reading, they will be motivated to read.
