Students in the district that I work for are required to take their standardized tests on a computer, but at the school that I work at, the computers that are available often times have broken keys, the screens glitch, or the it freezes constantly. Due to this, my students don't get sufficient time to practice on a computer in order to best prepare for the dreaded test. Also, students in my class use discovery education, an internet resource to help them complete four different science standards. This allows students to be able to maximize the use of the internet to help expand their minds and understanding of science content. The truth is a few computers/tablets is not enough for the 46 students I teach math and science to, but it will be a good first step to better prepare them for the world of tomorrow.
