I intend for my students to use these books for independent reading projects and novel studies. I have been bringing my students to check out books from our school library, but it can be challenging for them to find diverse titles, culturally and otherwise. Reading is so critical, especially to underprivileged kids who may not have the academic support at home that others do. It can help increase test scores and literacy levels, as well as open their minds and challenge their ideas! Growing up, books had an inestimable impact on my education and overall personal growth, and If I can offer that same experience to even one student I will feel like I have done my job.

About my class
