Welcome to our classroom at Burnham Math and Science Academy! Located on the South Side of Chicago, our school serves a resilient, vibrant community of 7th and 8th graders. Having taught ELA at Burnham for over 12 years, I see firsthand how brilliant and capable our students are when given the support they deserve. As a Title I school, many of our families face significant financial hardships. My top priority is to create a safe, welcoming environment where middle schoolers can thrive academically without worrying about basic necessities. Before my students can dive into reading analysis, craft essays, or express themselves through writing, they need to feel secure and cared for. Your support directly provides essential supplies and basic needs for my students. You ensure every teenager who enters my room can focus on what matters most: discovering their voice and building confidence for high school.
