We are a Preschool-5th grade public school located in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Our school has an Arts Magnet focus, believing in the power of the arts to transform and serve as a form of self-expression for our students. We also have an immersion program that will support our students in becoming truly bilingual and maintaining ties with all of the important people in their lives. I teach Music, Language and Culture as a specialist class to the whole school. It is an interdisciplinary course that uses music as a vehicle for learning Spanish language and Social Studies. We start by talking about ourselves and our own cultural identity, learning about the community we live in and then branching out into other parts of the country and world.
