My students need iPads to use for playing literacy and math games during centers. The iPads will also be used for a listening/reading center and to prepare for our online assessments. I have always wanted iPads for my students to use at centers because the applications are endless! There are so many educational uses that are engaging and challenging. This technology would allow for easy differentiation from my struggling students to my highest performers. The access to these tools at our school and at home for many of my students is lacking. I service a high population of kids who's families have just recently immigrated to the country and are just trying to make ends meet. When I give my families websites to use at home to practice reading or to get ready for our online state assessments they are regretfully unable to comply. I often hear we cannot afford a computer or iPad. Your donations would help level the playing field for my students. It would orient them with these powerful technological tools, increasing their familiarity and therefore ability to navigate in an online driven world. From doing research to reading leveled books online, to applying the math standards they have learned through playing games, I believe my kids deserve to experience the latest and greatest tools in education. You're generous donation would help to make this a reality for my kids. It would help them to prepare for the future.
