A classroom rug is essential in every elementary classroom. It allows for a central meeting place within the classroom that gives us a chance to build our class community. It provides an area for lessons to be taught with all students. This carpet also facilitates students being able to partner share with each other. It also helps with classroom management in giving students their own spot. Thus, this rug is essential for student growth not only academically, but also social and emotional growth. The rug will be where students gather in the morning to read books. It will also be where we gather for our morning meetings and our closing circle as well as many of our reading, science and social studies and math whole group lessons.
