My students are very good people that come from very poor living conditions. They are committed to improving themselves and becoming a constructive part of our complicated global society. They are young men and women with great dreams but no resources who come from all over Boston, some with over a two hour commute one way. They are remarkably innocent and still have faith that the public education system will enable them to succeed. Many of them stay after school for hours working in any way they can find to improve their skills and academics.
