The adolescent lives that I teach have experienced more in life than children should. They are often hungry, tired, and craving love and attention. Despite having some of the most basic needs not met, they have an incredible desire to learn and become successful. In my classroom, they crave order, structure, positive discipline, positive and negative consequences, and receive all of that. My classroom is a safe environment where they can be wrong and not be criticized for it. We have a sense of community and more importantly, we behave as a family. With your support, I am confident that these children of the future will become successful citizens of our country as we strive to retain learning through the use of supplies that encourage engaging lessons where students have a desire to come to school everyday and learn.
