My class if full of personality. I have a class that loves art, jokes, and discussions. They can make any project creative and fun to do (and fun to watch them do, too!). The socioeconomic level ranges in my classroom, but half of my students receive free or reduced cost breakfast and lunch. Our school is located near a university, bringing us a wealth of diverse backgrounds and cultures. As 6th graders, they are looking forward to Junior High, but are nervous about the transition. Some of the students have been attending the same school since pre-school. My students are the "top dogs" and act as role models for the rest of our school. They meet with first grade buddies monthly to help with projects, read books, and develop positive relationships. Additionally, they do over 10 hours of community service throughout the year in anything from alphabetizing the library to maintaining the garden.
