I teach math lab. Math lab is another class in addition to students regular math class. The students are placed in my classes based on their performance on state test testing and their grade level proficiency. Most of my students are at least two grades below the level that they should be. My goal is to bring these student up to grade level and fill in as many "gaps" as I can. Being a math teacher, students are expected to show their work and thoughts in multiple ways. Many times, students are wasting paper and materials or simply don't have enough space to show their work. I have tried many ways to turn my tables into "white board tables" but nothing seems to last more than a few weeks. My students are so eager to share their work and thoughts with their peers!
