My 1st graders are noticeably more engaged in their work and less disruptive of their peers when they are given a choice of where to work! These materials will make a difference in my students' learning because they will dig deeper into their reading and writing while sitting in their flexible seats. Flexible seating allows my students the ability to choose seating that best suits their needs while learning. My active students love moving and benefit from the movement of flexible seating. They enjoy sitting on crates, wobbly stools, and lap desks that help support their posture during writing. During whole group instruction and independent work times, they choose a location in the classroom that works for them. I want to make sure my students are comfortable while learning. I have noticed amazing differences in my students when they are given a choice in their seating.
