The transition from guided reading to the science of reading has begun in my classroom. My hard-working students have the knowledge of the 44 phonemes in English and are using that knowledge to decode words. These books will contribute to the decoding strategy that allow my students to build a solid foundation in their reading. My students are becoming skilled readers with the knowledge of sounds being used to make all words become sight words. The BOB books will achieve this goal for my students with the help of the number racks for representing sounds.
