I teach at an elementary school in south Florida. My students enjoy learning and reading. My school is a Title I school where more than 90% of the students receive free and reduced priced lunch. The community is a low socioeconomic area, and the budget of the school does not allow for us to be able to buy new supplies. The children in my class range in age from 8-10, including English Language Learners, Special Education students, and students with speech impairments. Some students struggle with reading, but still enjoy it. However, they love taking a break from reading to do something interactive, whether it be art, recess, or playing a game.
