I have 16 first graders from the age of 6 to 7. My first graders are sweet, smart, and eager to learn. In the classroom I encourage a growth mindset through hands-on activities. As you walk into the classroom, you will see me greet the student’s each morning. We do morning meetings, reading, math, science, and social studies. My students really enjoy doing STEM bins each morning. When you look around the room, you will notice that it is a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment. I have positive affirmations listed around the room. I want my students to know that they are special, loved, smart, and capable of doing great things. When my students leave the classroom every afternoon, I want them to know that I will see them tomorrow, to have a good night, and that they are loved.
