The books and materials for this project will be utilized to enhance student learning through the exposure of varied and diverse texts, along with supplies for creative projects that our students will use with their units of study. The Scholastic and Choice Magazine subscriptions, along with a plethora of books requested for this project will offer our students a rich literacy experience, as the titles cover a vast array of topics. The increased opportunities for students to read texts in which they can make real-world connections will help to increase reading and text fluency, along with comprehension. Our students will discover and rediscover a love for reading. The students will also use the supplies requested to show further extensions in learning, by constructing real-world end products such as brochures, pamphlets, foldables, one-pagers, etc. at the culmination of each unit, to demonstrate their understanding of the texts.
