My classroom is a middle school library that serves approximately 900 students. Our library is a place for reading, researching and working, collaborating, relaxing and playing. We work to meet every child where he/she is. When you walk into our library, you will see students engaged in learning, collaborating with others, and developing communication skills. We have students that visit to play board games, to engage in Minecraft communities, and show their creativity using our Makerspace art cart. We also serve a staff of approximately 65 teachers who work tirelessly to help their students achieve. The library serves as a professional development zone for teachers, helping to improve their practice. With your support for this project, teachers will have a professional development book to read and study over the summer which will help to adjust their teaching to better serve students.
