My second grade high need students love learning. These second graders are mainly from low income families where their parents work long hours just to get food on the table. Many of them are struggling below grade level in reading, writing, and math. All have made tremendous growth so far and have jumped one to two reading ability levels in just three months. They are able to read independently now - something they weren't able to do at the beginning of the year. I love to get them excited about all subjects - reading, writing, math, social studies, and science, and they enjoy putting forth great effort in their academic growth.
