Flexible seating options provide a comfortable learning environment that will appeal to all learners in a classroom. Having different options for my students to choose from gives them more control over their actions. This will give my wigglers a chance to move appropriately.
I am excited to shift my classroom from traditional seating to a 21st Century room which encourages a level of freedom and choice!
I have selected options for floor seating, standing, and options to collaborate around a low table. I have been experimenting with different options in my classroom. I want my students to use lapboards and cushions when sitting on the floor and the Wobble Chairs to get the wiggles out. I have also included movable desks...the kids will be able to go to each other with their workspace. Comfort gives the students the ability to work instead of being restrained by the traditional desk and chair.
I am anxious to see how this impacts student achievement in my classroom. I want to give my students the very best start and finish to their days!
