Welcome to my page! Donors Choose is a great way for teachers to get the classroom supplies and funding they need from the kind donations of individuals. While education in our country is underfunded everywhere, the state of Arizona (a Right to Work state-- no unions) ranks near the bottom. My district has suffered severe budget cuts and let go 75 teachers and 55 classified staff in the past three years alone, and remaining teachers have not received a pay increase (even those gaining additional credits and even Master's degrees) in almost seven years. A 10% budget override that would have raised teacher salaries and improved facilities failed in November by a wide margin. Our district also has 65% of students receiving free or reduced lunch. Despite the challenges, I'm inspired by my wonderful colleagues to continue working hard for my students. I am so thankful for any help you can give.
