We are a Title I school in Florida with over 70% free or reduced lunch. My students have little access to books outside of school. Often the media center is their only place to get books that interest them and capture their imagination. Our school is over fifty years old with an aging book collection. My students have so many outside distractions, getting them to read is difficult. High interest, current books are critical to getting them to engage in at least 20 minutes of reading a night.
