Greetings, I am a 6th grade middle school teacher. I am looking forward to opening the hearts and minds of my students through novels in which they can make a connection with and become critical thinkers. My students are from a low socio-economic background with limited exposure to the real world. However, through reading and implementing the art, they will be able to become problem solvers in their communities and the world in which they live. I have ten years teaching experience and I have seen a dull book come to life by using critical thinking, art and technology to bring the composition to life. Because of Mr. Terupt is an excellent way to begin your school year and conversations about sevin dynamic characters portrayed in this book. My students will be able to relate to the characters and empathize through their journey, not only in education but life.
