The maps I currently have in my classroom are VERY old, one is torn and the world map could certainly be updated. I use maps as a reminder/reference to classroom discussions on current events and history lessons as well as pointing out locations that need a visual. It is important for students to have a large visual, not just a handout in front of them. I wish to have a new US and world map added to the classroom. The world is getting smaller every day; my students are quite interested in learning about other cultures and it is critical to regularly point out the actual locations of events to better understand their place in our world!
