Scholastic News is a cross-curricular nonfiction magazine. They have kid-friendly stories, skill-building activities, audios and videos, etc., bringing excitement to science, social studies and reading. Children's magazines are a wonderful supplement to classroom instruction. I will be able to provide differentiated instruction to my students through the magazine subscription. I will also have my students read the magazines independently to increase their comprehension and vocabulary skills. After reading, my students will be able to tell their peers and families about the topics they explore. This can lead to further conversations and exploration at the library and through online resources.
