The average publication date of the science collection in our school library is 1999. When a student conducts a catalog search and then finds the title on the shelf, they often decide that the book is not what they want. Hand-illustrated covers and pages full of text are not appealing to young readers. Our students need science books with engaging text and photos that are culturally relevant. Our students deserve materials that were published in this century. The books we will purchase are aligned with the science modules that students are exploring in class and will provide additional answers for inquiring minds.
