With only one working student desktop in the classroom, my students currently have minimal access to technology. When receiving the specialized instruction, they need to close the gap between their ability and current achievement in my special education classroom. Your generous contribution will show my students that you all BELIEVE in them and know THEY CAN be successful so much so that you are willing to invest in them! Your donation will connect my students with engaging resources online that WILL IMPROVE their skills in reading and math using research-based methods tailored to fit their individual skill levels and needs. You will give my students a greater ability to take ownership of their learning! "How so, Mrs. Casler?" Once these laptops arrive in our classroom, they will serve a significant need to connect my exceptional students with programs and sites tailored to specifically assist their different and various learning abilities! Here are just a few of the multitude of ways students will utilize these three laptops purchased with your tax-deductible donation to improve their skills: Dyslexic students and those with similar language-based learning disabilities will utilize the laptops to practice reading skills learned in our multi-sensory small group reading sessions! Multiplication and Number Sense practice through interactive, engaging games will be incorporated into our math centers using these laptops. Students will become better typists as they utilize applications geared to assist in developing and improving their skills. Audiobooks and Read-alouds will be listened to daily to increase students’ vocabulary and aid in attaining reading goals. Students will utilize iReady’s individualized intervention lessons within literacy centers weekly. Please assist me in providing tomorrow’s innovators and leaders with the tools they need to navigate their way to success today!
