I work with approximately 75–80 seventh and eighth grade students daily, with a focus on developing both mathematical understanding and real-world application skills. A major part of my work centers on helping students overcome their fear of math while also encouraging them to set and pursue future goals. Building confidence is essential, and I am passionate about creating a learning environment where students feel supported, capable, and motivated to succeed. Providing students with opportunities to apply what they have learned—whether through collaboration with peers or by working with nearby elementary schools—has proven to be especially impactful. As a result, many students begin to come out of their shells and take greater ownership of their learning. Having materials readily available to complete assignments is also a key factor in student success.
