I am a teacher in NYC's specialized District 75. My class is comprised of 12 incredible students who cannot be serviced in their local community school district. My students have severe and multiple disabilities that impact their physical, cognitive and communication skills. Most of my students use wheelchairs and mobility devices along with lots of assistive technology. n my classroom we believe that communication is a human right, stimming is good, all students can learn no matter what, and everyone is welcome. I am a Queer, Non-Binary Transgender teacher who is also neurodivergent. These identities shape who I am as a person and as a teacher.
