My students are 10th graders who are in an Intensive Reading class because when they took the state reading assessment in 9th grade it showed they were not reading on grade level. Our school is a Title 1 school and most of the middle schools that feed into us are as well. Most of my students have been in an Intensive Reading class before. They have been given so many assessments that they come to me hating the word "READ". My classroom screams READING and I believe it is contagious. I love to READ and I want them to feel the same way.
