STEM activities and labs are very important to the understanding of science. Digital thermometers would be a valuable, accurate, and efficient tool for my students to use during our activities/labs. Accurate data collection is very important in scientific investigation, and having the proper tools makes all the difference!!! Many of our STEM activities/labs involve weather, water, and the environment. We will be using thermometers to compare surface temperature of various groundcovers, discover temperature differences in a variety of outdoor settings, These are just a few examples of how students will use scientific instruments. STEM is an interdisciplinary approach to learning where rigorous academic concepts are coupled with real-world lessons as students apply science, technology, engineering, and mathematics in contexts that make connections between school, community, work, and the global enterprise enabling the development of STEM literacy and with it the ability to compete in the new economy.
