My students are the inner city students that come from homes where many of them will serve as the first generation of students to graduate from high school and go on to college. The only way to describe the students at this school is by considering the words "loving and in need of "support". These students are the students are seen as the students that struggle to make it to school and to survive and with a high population of foster kids at this school site many of them want someone to show that they care along with assisting in giving them a better future. However, they are like any other student around the world. They are curious, they love compliments, and a good role model can have a huge effect the way they think. The school in which I work and they attend is an inner city school surrounded by neighborhood with a low socioeconomic background. Many of the students live in government housing and some families at our schools depend on government assistance to survive.
