I teach middle school and college-level science in a rural middle/high school. This is a school with a lot of heart, where faculty, parents and community members work closely to keep students safe and create opportunities for their growth. Many students come from economically disadvantaged households, or have potential to be the first generation to attend college. My goal is to provide opportunities for students to learn in meaningful ways, and to gain career and college readiness. My classroom is in need of updated technology, high-quality materials, texts and resources. For example, next year I will teach a college-level, lab-based science course and we do not have our own set of student computers in our classroom. I am committed to providing students with what they need to succeed in science!
