If you walked into our classroom, you would see students learning. You would see students from all backgrounds at all levels of learning, having engaging, meaningful, rich conversations about math, writing, reading, and science. The greatest compliment my classroom has been given is that we have a sense of community; the atmosphere in our room is one of collaboration, respect, and hard work. We know the meaning of "getting to business", but also enjoy each other's company and learning from differences and challenges. Our learning outshines our high percentages of free and reduced lunches, our standardized test scores, and the difficulties students come to school with. My students reiterate my passion for teaching through their enthusiasm and love of learning.
