Two things that you will always find in my classroom are learning and an inviting atmosphere. Students are engaged, able to work both independently and within a group, and are invested in what they are learning. These are the norms for my classroom regardless of what grade level I am teaching. As my new fourth graders embark on an adventure into investigative learning, it is extremely important for them to feel comfortable in the classroom. ACADIA Academy is a Maine Charter School that embraces caring for the whole child by providing both academic and social/emotional learning opportunities. I share this vision for my students. Through hands-on work, field investigations, community service projects and more, my students be giving back to their communities and growing into leaders of tomorrow.
