Something I have tried to instill in my students is how to be kind to one another. Throughout our school year we have added kind notes to our "Sweet and Kind" wall, highlighting acts of kindness by students. We have also written letters to first responders, as well as sponsoring a toy drive during the holidays for those families who could not afford to purchase gifts for their children. My kids LOVE to move, and they are so enthusiastic when it comes to giving back to others, so this project is PERFECT for them! UNICEF Kid Power helps to get kids active and teaches them about important lessons (empathy, self-awareness, protecting the planet, etc.), while also giving back to children around the world. "Kindness is a gift everyone can afford to give." Kid Power Bands will help my students track their steps and movement, while also giving them the power to help more children around the globe. When they complete activities and challenges, students earn points and can then use their points to support the causes that matter the most to them! This is a fantastic way to get kids moving, feel encouraged, and make them feel capable and empowered to make a difference in the world.
