My students are 4 and 5 when they are in my class. They usually come in lacking in one of the following areas literacy, math, social and math skills. Our goal by the end of the year is to increase each child in all areas to ensure they are ready for kindergarten. Our school is a Title One school and we lack in the area of resources. We are no longer allowed to ask parents for any resources because of the program. The Pre-K Program is a program offered to parents who income is typically below the poverty level. The program wants to take all stress off of families by not making it their responsibility to buy resources for their child's classroom.
