The following items will make a difference in the lives of, both male and female, student-athletes by providing them with a fully functional small classroom for position meetings, conferencing by position as depth charts fluctuate, etc. Additionally, it will serve as a female coach’s classroom and center of operations, in the spring – something that is lacking and not equitable. First, we are requesting a whiteboard. This will be a mobile whiteboard, so it can be wheeled into the adjoining locker room for large group instruction, away team adjustments, or announcements for the girls during track season. Next, we need some lockable storage. Currently, we have tens of thousands of dollars of video replay equipment, headsets, and iPads simply in the corner, on the floor. Of course, the desk will be used by coaches, both male and female, to set the standard of a classroom and set professional appropriate relationships when meeting with students in the classroom. We also will use the room to store small items needed daily – like the agility ladder. The “versatile [shelves] and corner shelf” in “birch [wood]” will additionally serve as a buffet counter for team meals. I know the track team also feeds their student-athletes and may need to store small items as well! Finally, we will need some multipurpose seating in the room that can accommodate small, usually intense position meetings, where a more inviting setting is needed, hence the “Hercules Diplomat” series of furniture. Likewise, larger meetings may require the “black steel folding chairs” to accommodate more student-athletes. Having a donation of the previous items will provide us with a fully functional small classroom that can be used daily for a variety of great educational and athletic purposes!
